Nicolás Lorite García

Nicolás Lorite García is Full Professor of the Department of Advertisement, Public Relations and Audiovisual Communication, director of MIGRACOM (Observatory and Research Group on Migration and Communication) of Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
He has managed different research projects about mediatic treatment of immigration and diversity from the perspectives of applied audiovisual research and action research, among them, MINECO (CSO2012-35771) is worth mentioning: ‘Multimodal study on the representation of diversity in the Spanish advertisement and intercultural effects in cities of the Mediterranean in times of crisis’, and also, ‘Advertisement, propaganda, otherness and citizenship: trans-methodological strategies of the analysis of diversity in contexts of economic and social change in Brazil and Spain’, funded by the Ministry of Education in Spain and CAPES-Brazil.
He has been professor and researcher in different European and American universities, among them UQAM in Montreal, Canada; TEC of Monterrey, in Mexico and UNISINOS, UFRGS and UFRN in Brazil.
He is author of different publications about treatment of migrations and diversity on mass and information media. He is member of the Table for Diversity in the Audiovisual Media of the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia.
